Big walk achievements

Achievement overview

Source: Steam

Big Walk ships with 12 Steam achievements, and the whole set matches the game's low-pressure tone. There are no kill counts, no speedrun checks, and no difficulty-gated unlocks. Every achievement instead rewards you for exploring the big world, using its strangest transit, and playing with the customization options. Since the game is a cooperative online walker-talker from House House, the creators of Untitled Goose Game, most of the list is designed to be discovered while hanging out and getting lost with close friends.

The achievements follow a simple naming pattern, and the unlock conditions are mostly obvious once you are standing in the right place. A few are tied to story moments, and two achievements currently show no description on Steam, so they will need to be discovered in-game. Big Walk supports online co-op and cross-platform multiplayer, and its Save Anytime feature means you can pause mid-walk, check your progress, and pick up where you left off without losing anything. Steam Cloud keeps your save and achievement progress safe across machines.

Tips for completionists

If you want to clean up the full 12 before moving on, treat the list like a sightseeing checklist rather than a grind. The world is meant to be explored slowly, and almost every unlock appears when you do something the game clearly wants you to try: opening the map, boarding the chairlift, or wandering past the wall.

  • Open the map in your first minutes. The Big View achievement only asks you to visit the map, so pull it up early and bank an easy unlock.
  • Ride everything that moves. The drawbridge, chairlift, and train each have an achievement tied to them. If you see a ride, take it.
  • Head for landmarks. Reaching the highest point, entering the big tunnel, and going beyond the wall all reward curiosity, so use the map to spot unusual terrain and investigate.
  • Use the customization options. Wearing a backpack and wearing something on your hip are two of the quickest achievements, so check your outfit gear in the first session.
  • Look for a shine. One achievement asks you to get shiny, which suggests a collectible or cosmetic effect will eventually change your look.

Your mileage will vary, but you can usually mop up the list in one focused evening or across two relaxed sessions. Because you can save anywhere, you never need to finish a route in a single sitting, and the map makes it easy to return to spots you skipped.

  • Play with friends. Covering ground as a group means someone is more likely to stumble onto the hidden spots, the tunnel entrance, or the way beyond the wall.
  • Check the map whenever you are stuck. If an area-based achievement is still locked, the map will help you figure out which landmark you have not touched yet.
  • Revisit areas after story moments. Since two achievements have no visible description, they may appear after a specific moment, so keep walking even after you think you have seen everything.
  • Let the quiet moments play out. Big Walk encourages hanging out, so sitting in a spot with friends can trigger the moments that the descriptionless achievements are hiding.

If you are hunting with a group, split up and call out what you find. The fastest way to finish all 12 achievements is to treat the expedition like a shared scavenger hunt, then regroup at whatever landmark the map points you toward next.
