Big Walk Update 1.6.0 Brings Networking Fixes, New Settings, and More
Source: Steam Community
Big Walk version 1.6.0 is now live, focusing on a smoother experience for everyone. Join codes now include both letters and numbers, making them easier to share and more secure. Several rare networking issues that could prevent players from connecting have been fixed, and error messages are now clearer when something goes wrong.
This update also introduces two new settings: First Person Arm Movement, which gives you more control over how your arms appear, and Echo Cancellation (Windows and Mac) to reduce audio feedback. On Windows, a crash related to Smart App Control has been resolved, and corrupted saves will now fall back to a backup in more cases.
Here are the other highlights:
- Modded clients can no longer perform actions that disrupt other players.
- Fixed a challenge skip exploit involving the lost and found and server restarts.
- Unrecognized gamepads now show fallback button prompts.
- Corrected a shader error with dynamic lights, a missing light in one challenge, and several spots where players could get stuck.
- Adjusted a misaligned collider on a challenge skip button panel.
- Night sky stars now match the real southern hemisphere orientation.
- Two landmarks on the map have had their colors fixed.
- Kicking a player now clears any text they wrote during the session.
